1. Membership
Access to CUBSpace is restricted to current members and their invited guests. Membership does not guarantee entry on any given night and may be limited by capacity, private bookings, or event-specific conditions.
2. Age Requirement
Members must be 19 years of age or older to consume alcohol or access bar service on the premises, in accordance with British Columbia law. Staff may request valid government-issued photo identification at any time, and entry or service may be refused if identification cannot be provided.
3. Code of Conduct
Members agree to treat staff, performers, and fellow members with respect. CUBSpace reserves the right to refuse entry, refuse service, or remove any individual whose conduct is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or inconsistent with the community standards of the space, without refund or compensation.
4. Alcohol Service
Alcohol is served at the discretion of trained staff in accordance with provincial liquor licensing regulations. Members are responsible for their own consumption and conduct. Staff may decline to serve any individual who appears intoxicated. Members are encouraged to arrange safe transportation home and to drink responsibly.
5. Assumption of Risk and Liability
Attendance at CUBSpace is voluntary and at the member's own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CUBSpace, its owners, staff, and affiliates are not liable for any personal injury, loss, theft, or damage to property arising from a member's presence at or use of the space, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
6. Photography and Promotional Use
As a shared social space, photography and filming may occur at CUBSpace, including by staff, hired photographers, and other members. By becoming a member, you acknowledge and agree that you may be photographed or filmed while on the premises, and that CUBSpace may use such content, including images featuring you, for promotional purposes across web, print, and social media. This is a condition of membership rather than a separate consent, as CUBSpace cannot reasonably control or verify incidental photography by other guests.
7. Communication
Where a member has opted in, CUBSpace may send occasional emails regarding programming, events, and membership updates. Members may unsubscribe from these communications at any time.
8. Community Standards
CUBSpace operates as part of the CUB program and is built around community, respect, and cultural engagement. Members agree to uphold these values and to treat the space and its community accordingly.
